Correspondences

The System Description Architecture Description Framework provides a set of correspondences that support the use of the Structural Categories provided in the System Description (SDSF)  Structuring Formalism. This set of correspondences is applicable to any System [Architecture] Description created using this System Description Architecture Description Framework. In this System Description Architecture Description Framework, the term System [Architecture] Description is shortened to System Description.

General Note: System Description as an AD Element

In ISO 42010:2022, an Architecture Description is considered an AD Element. This allows correspondences to be created across Architecture Descriptions.

A System Description is an AD Element as it is actually a System [Architecture] Description that is produced using the System Description Architecture Description Framework. This provides a mechanism for establishing correspondences across System Descriptions.

General Note: Ontology Element as a type of Aspect

An Ontology Element represents a domain specific concept (e.g. about functions, structure or information) used in a conceptual model as part of a Structure (Pattern of Organization) View from the CAFF. The ODV may include multiple conceptual models to identify all of the key concepts for a domain. These Ontology Elements are typically stereotyped with <<Ontology Element>>.

Ontology Elements are required in an Ontology Model which is part of an Ontology Definition View (ODV) to ensure that all concepts used in a System Description are defined.
